Last night, my journey and bid to become your mayor ended. While I'm disappointed with the result, I am still inspired by the ideas, energy and support that you provided during the campaign. With your help, we raised issues and put forth ideas that were unprecedented, bold and toward the betterment of the city. For that, I am grateful to you.

I ran for Mayor because I love our city and I wanted to make a difference. So many of our families are struggling and so much work needs to be done. While yesterday didn't work out for me, this campaign was never about me and was always about tomorrow.

So as I start the day and begin my tomorrow, I ask you to join me in continuing to do what you can to make our city better. There are so many wonderful people and organizations in this city that do so much good work and I look forward to working with many of you in the future.

I sincerely congratulate all of the officials newly elected and re-elected last evening the very best in their efforts to make a difference.
